Ayanda Ngcobo
Director
Ayanda Ngcobo, Director of MetGovis Academy, has over 12 years’ experience within the IT environment, mostly within the public sector. He provides technical and project management support to MetGovis’s client portfolio. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Strategic Management and currently enrolled for Honours in Public Management, University of Pretoria. Ayanda is lives the mantra that “hard work pays off”. He is committed to using technology to promote accountability within local government. Ayanda believes in creativity and transformation that bring both resilience and agility to organisations. Ayanda has an innate ability to get along with people, this equips him well to provide relevant and accessible solutions for the public sector.
Janet Channing
Managing Director
Janet Channing, Managing Director of MetGovis, is a registered professional property valuer, with extensive experience within local government specifically in the areas of municipal valuation and rating. Janet is registered with the South African Council for Property Valuers Profession and is a member of the South African Institute of Valuers. Janet has a Master’s in Applied Ethics, National Diploma in Real Estate, a project management diploma and a post-graduate diploma in human resources management. She is currently doing her research doctoral thesis through the University of Pretoria on the role of geospatial data for the sustainability of local government. She endorses the requirement for structured skills transfer and the empowerment of organisations through the improved competencies and training.
Janine Pillay
Technical Consultant
Janine joined MetGovis as a technical consultant in 2016 and has been directly involved in the consulting and procurement sectors of the business. Janine has been in the IT industry for over 7 years and holds diplomas in Information Technology and Comprehensive Programming. Janine considers herself as a willing individual who can take of challenges to empower herself to gain further experience and knowledge. She has a wonderful sense of humour and a positive outlook in life. Janine believes that in honesty, punctuality and ensures that the procurement processes are rigorously adhered to.
Lindokuhle Mfeka
Technical Consultant
Lindo is employed as a technical consultant by MetGovis. He currently deploys MetGovis software, migrates data, and facilitates training. Lindokuhle has assisted with developing digital data collection forms. Lindokuhle qualified in IT Engineering at Computer Training Institute in 2005. He was employed at Isiqina Computer Services in February of 2012 as an Onsite IT Support Technician. Lindokuhle joined SP Consulting Services cc in October of 2016 as a Digital Reporting Support Technician, working at the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development offices in Cedara, KwaZulu-Natal. He became the Digital Reporting Project Co-ordinator in January 2020.
Wayne Webley
Technical Consultant
Wayne joined MetGovis in May 2010 as a technical consultant. Wayne’s original qualification was in agriculture. He was employed at Msunduzi Municipality from 1990. He transferred to the Property Valuation and Real Estate Department in 2000 where he immersed himself in all aspects of property and property management within local government. Wayne works with the developers of the MetVal Valuation Roll Management software as well as other property related software applications. Wayne’s current responsibilities include deploying the MetGovis software, migrating data and providing training on topics related to municipal valuations and rating. Wayne is a 3rd year candidate valuer, studying a Real Estate diploma through the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
Wynand van der Walt
Director
Wynand joined MetGovis in 2011. He has worked in the GIS industry since 1993. He completed his National Diploma in Town and Regional Planning at Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 1994. He has a wide ranging professional knowledge and experience in various GIS software products including ArcGIS, ArcInfo, ArcView, MGE, Hexagon M.App Enterprise, Regis, QGIS, Microstation GeoGraphics, and Autodesk World. Wynand’s daily tasks include compiling and querying data and projects from numerous vendors/sources. He is also responsible to the compilation of thematic maps, database design/creation and maintenance, the creation of 3D elevation models, the evaluation, design and establishment of complete GIS systems and the compilation, auditing and maintenance of cadastral datasets with regard to registered and unregistered properties for various local and district municipalities. Much of Wynand’s time is spent working to upgrade the integrity and accuracy of spatial datasets as well as the establishment and maintenance of a dynamic real-time web-based GIS system. Wynand is a perfectionist: If the job is worth doing then it is worth doing well. He does not make mistakes and if he is responsible for your training, you won’t make mistakes either.
